Willy Carbo

Willy Carbo (born 14th August 1959) played 42 games for FC Twente between 1984 and 1987. One of his 17 goals in this period made him deserve an exclusive place in this Tukker ABC. On 12th September 1984 FC Twente, playing at home against Go Ahead Eagles, Willy made an astonishing back heel goal, while hanging upside-down in the air. Play the video ahead and see it yourself Steve! The Dutch national sports program Studio Sport had Willy’s finest moment in the leader at the start of the program for several years. Willy’s goal is badly copied many times since then, among others bij Rafaël van der Vaart. But none of these attempts were while hanging that much upside-down as Willy did. Much less known is that Willy Carbo once caused a penalty by catching the ball in his own box, because he thought the referee had just whistled for the end of the match.
